AFS Cemetery Workstation overview

AFS Cemetery Workstation is a comprehensive all-in-one SaaS solution designed to support the operations of cemeteries, crematoria, and funeral directors. The system is built on a microservices architecture, which allows different parts of the system to be developed independently and scaled according to customer needs.

The solution consists of the following modules:

Inventory

a module for managing cemetery and crematorium assets, including maps and plots.

Sales

a module for managing sales, payments, and documentation, including integration with digital signature systems and various payment gateways (Stripe, Square, PayPal, Authorize.net, etc.).

Crematorium

a module for managing cremations and handling requests from funeral directors.

Work Orders

a module for managing work orders.

Interment Arrangements

a module for managing burial requests

To support interaction between the customer and the cemetery, we have developed an additional set of modules:

Records Search

a system for searching the cemetery’s public records, with features such as aftercare service requests, creation of memorial pages, a kiosk mode, and themed cemetery tours

Interactive Lot Selector

a tool that helps visitors find, choose, and reserve a plot at the cemetery

Tending

Tending is a platform that connects customers and contractors. The system consists of three components:
  • Client-facing mobile app Tending (Bezikaron for Israel) and the corresponding website https://tending.app
  • Mobile app for contractors – Grave Tender (Bezikaron Contractors for Israel)
  • Our own ERP – Tending Back Office

Technically, the software versions for the US and Israel are identical and differ only in localization, branding, product set, and integrations. All our mobile apps run on Android, iOS, and Mac (Apple Silicon).

Tending App

Main features of the application:

  • Order/subscription creation wizard

  • Orders and payments management

  • Receiving, rating, and sharing the service completion report

  • Getting assistance or consultation — either from AI or a live operator

Registration and login are performed via Google or Apple, depending on the user’s platform.

On the main screen, the customer sees their existing orders and can launch the wizard to create a new one.

After the contractor completes the work and it is approved by our quality control team, the customer receives a report with Before and After photos. The user can rate the report and share it with their family, including via a web version.

The user can receive consultation in a chat with a live operator or AI (ChatGPT with our custom prompt). Various system notifications are also delivered to the chat, for example when a new report becomes available.

Grave Tender App

Main features of the application:

  • Receiving Work Orders and scheduling work for the future

  • Access to all necessary Work Order details: work location, site photos, list of interred individuals, and a clear description of what needs to be done and how

  • Mandatory photo documentation of the work Before and After

  • Consultation with the contractor’s manager during the execution of the work

  • Receiving calculated payouts for completed tasks

The application can operate offline in areas without mobile coverage and will synchronize its data once a network connection becomes available.

The contractor receives Work Orders in the application and can see tasks scheduled for “now” and “in the future.”

For each Work Order, the contractor receives all the necessary information: what needs to be done and where, along with links, documents, and photos.

For each job, there is a detailed explanation of how to perform it, including the required skills, materials, and tools.

The contractor can view all tasks, including on a map. We also collect the contractor’s coordinates with every action performed in the application.
